As from today, Exchange 2000 users can fax again!
London, UK, 24 January 2001 - GFI today launched FAXmaker for Exchange 2000, the first native fax connector for Microsoft Exchange 2000.
FAXmaker installs as a connector on Exchange 2000, and fax-enables all Exchange 2000 users: Without installing additional client software, users can send and receive faxes from Outlook. Network administrators will not need to worry about additional user administration - FAXmaker integrates with Active Directory and eliminates the need for a separate fax server user database. The minimal fax server configuration that must be done is performed via MMC (Microsoft Management Console).
Besides Exchange 2000 integration, FAXmaker also takes full advantage of new Windows 2000 features - FAXmaker supports the new Windows 2000 modem drivers, thus offering wider fax hardware support. A new feature in FAXmaker for Exchange 2000 is an interface to the HP Digital Sender, allowing users to send paper documents via the fax server easily.
"FAXmaker for Exchange 2000 was a major development. But the market was demanding it: the uptake of Exchange 2000 is increasing exponentially day by day. We are excited to see that so far we are the only affordable fax connector out there," said Nick Galea, GFI president.
"We are pleased to see FAXmaker now supports Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server," said Branch Hendrix, Group Product Manager at Microsoft. "This will help customers in their deployment of Exchange 2000, as fax is still an important part of everyday business communication to many."
"GFI is the market leading fax connector for Microsoft Exchange Server. The fact GFI is now the first to release a native connector for Exchange 2000 will further strengthen this position. Currently, the most popular way to deploy a fax server is as a fax connector for Exchange server. This trend is clearly shown by the visitors to my website," commented Mike Winter, webmaster of NTFAXFAQ.COM, a site that has reviews of over 150 Windows 2000/NT based fax servers.
FAXmaker for Exchange 2000 features include a multi-line fax server, inbound fax routing, print to fax driver for Windows, support for server-based rendering of Office documents, fax management features and more. Other enterprise features include remote user and fax server administration, least cost routing, user configuration profiles, remote viewing of fax server status, Brooktrout and ISDN card support, and Word mail merge support, allowing users to create personalized fax mailings. FAXmaker is the most competitively priced fax server on the market: A 25-user version sells for $750 and a 100-user FAXmaker sells for $1895.
FAXmaker for Exchange has won the prestigious Microsoft Packaged Application Partner of the Year award 2000. The product has been awarded Product of the Year by Internet Telephony Magazine for 2000, by Communications Solutions Magazine for 1999 and by CTI Magazine for 1998, as well as being selected as CTI Magazine Editor's Choice 1999.

Other key organizations using FAXmaker include Microsoft, USAF, Time Warner Cable, Canadian Coast Guard, Siemens, Digital, Compaq, Philips, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and many more.
